Día de Muertos
Pokémon GO's Día de Muertos returns to Mexico: Cubone wearing a crown of cempasúchil — the marigold whose scent is said to guide the spirits home — comes from Incense, from Timed Research with a Special Background, and from Team Challenges played in a group. It can be Shiny, and it keeps the crown when it evolves into Marowak. Incense and Poffins last twice as long for the event, PokéStops and Gyms hand out Día de Muertos stickers for each team, and the Timed Research pays 2,026 Stardust and 2,026 XP. From 31 October to 5 November there is also a Stamp Rally along Avenida Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City, with its own local Timed Research. The costume first appeared at Día de Muertos 2023, which is why the game files it under the autumn 2023 costume family.
